Martlesham Heath Aviation Society
For the fifth straight year we played at the MHAS open day on September 6; as always the venue was packed with visitors having a good day out and remembering the role of Martlesham during World War II; a fly past by a 1940s Dakota captured the spirit perfectly. We did two sets at 2.00pm and 3.00pm, some of the tunes that we’ll also be doing at the Framingham Christmas Fair on December 4 – the 51st Highland Division’s Farewell to Sicily followed by Farewell to the Creeks is very nice; both wars encapsulated in much the same melody. Photo by Rachel Hockley-Warner who also played a fantastic bugle….
